Cookies, only if you say yes
This is still one of the shortest pages on the site, because there is very little to disclose. Last updated 23 August 2026.
Nothing is set until you agree
Arrive on this site and no cookies are placed on your device. We ask once, in a small bar at the bottom of the screen, whether you are happy for us to use Google Analytics. Until you say yes, nothing is loaded from Google and nothing about your visit is sent there. Decline and the answer is remembered, so you are not asked again.
If you allow analytics
We load Google Analytics 4, which sets two cookies on your device: _ga and a second one beginning _ga_ followed by our property identifier. They last up to two years and let Google recognise a returning browser so that ten visits from you are not counted as ten different people. We use it to see which pages are read and which are ignored. We do not run advertising, we do not use it to build profiles, and we do not sell anything to anyone.
Anonymous counts that need no cookies
Whether or not you accept, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics and Ahrefs Web Analytics. Both measure page views without cookies, without local storage and without fingerprinting your device. Neither can follow you between sites or identify you, which is why they do not require consent. They give us the traffic baseline; Google Analytics only adds detail for the people who agree to it.
What is stored on your device either way
Two small values live in your browser's local storage, not in cookies, and neither leaves your device. If you use the light/dark toggle, your choice is saved under dk-theme. Your answer to the analytics question is saved under dk-analytics-consent, which is how we avoid asking again on every page. Clearing site data in your browser removes both, and the site works fine without them.
What else loads, and from where
The site's fonts, images and code are served by us, not pulled from third-party networks. The measurement scripts are the exception, and there are only ever two or three: Cloudflare Web Analytics, Ahrefs Web Analytics, and Google Analytics if you agreed to it. Nothing else on the page comes from anywhere else.
Links to our social profiles are plain links: nothing loads from those platforms until you click through, and what happens there is governed by their policies, not ours.
Changing your mind
You can change your answer at any time, right here. Withdrawing permission is exactly as easy as giving it, and takes effect immediately.
For how we handle the information you choose to send us, see the privacy policy.
